A Manifesto Against Wasted Time

Work gets blocked and time is wasted when the know-how you need is trapped. We built Dobbin to make that expertise usable and keep work moving
The Root of Work Angst
Most of that waste comes from activities that are poorly conceived or poorly coordinated. We’ve all used the clichés, "herding cats" or "rowing in different directions," but the experience is more visceral than a metaphor. It’s a specific kind of misery that stems from two gaps:
The Strategy Gap: A lack of clarity about what matters, how impact is measured, and what you’re actually supposed to be doing.
The Execution Gap: A lack of clarity on how you’re supposed to do it, even once you know the goal.
Why we Are Blocked
We built Dobbin because we’ve spent decades being frustrated by the experience of being blocked from just trying to do our jobs. One of the primary cause is tacit knowledge.
It’s the valuable stuff, the "strategic physics" of a business, that remains trapped inside other people’s heads. It isn’t anyone’s fault; it’s just being human. People forget things. People aren't always available. Documents get lost in the digital equivalent of a junk drawer.
When information is trapped, the organization stops. The founder becomes a bottleneck, and the team becomes an audience waiting for permission to act.

We Are Systems People
Every one of us at Dobbin is a systems person. Collectively, our team has built and operated design systems, brand systems, technology systems, finance systems, and sales systems.
But like all systems people we’ve learned the hard lesson: the system needs to be used the right way. Historically, systems required perfect human memory and constant meetings to survive. We realized that for the first time in history, it is genuinely possible to build a system for the work itself, the day-to-day effort required to keep a team aligned without the friction of constant coordination.
Meet the team behind Dobbin.
Our Mission is Human
We didn't build Dobbin just to move numbers on a spreadsheet. We built it because:
We hate wasting time in meetings.
We want to get "unstuck."
We have families and lives outside of work that we actually want to enjoy. (Especially Joonas).
The goal of Dobbin is to unlock potential energy. It’s about creating a world where you can get much further on your own, armed with the collective intelligence of your organization.
With Dobbin, the "Chief Alignment Officer" can finally retire, and the rest of us can get back to the work we actually love doing.
Go from conversation to action.
See how Dobbin turns scattered Slack threads into clear decisions and keeps your team moving, all without another meeting.
